I’ll be honest…I’m not a big fan of the Madea franchise. It’s not that I have any hate towards the films, in fact I absolutely love Tyler Perry both as a person and a performer, producer, director…the man literally does it all! I say all of that because Perry’s latest addition to the Madea series, Boo! A Madea Halloween, leaves me feeling pretty conflicted. Do I take an interest in the playfully accurate parodies plastered all over the film’s promo materials? Or do I just mentally file this away as another Madea movie and move on?
This latest trailer doesn’t make the decision any easier by giving everything a decidedly 80s throwback vibe. Even digging the synth audio loop reminds me a little of Ernest Scared Stupid…
